Reading Environment

It doesn’t take long to see that our classrooms promote Reading. Book shelves line the walls of the classroom.  Students (and teachers) are talking about what they read, and what other students “need to read!” Students hand in their work, get organized, and then off to the Reading Corner to continue their books.

Our classrooms have an Environment that encourages reading.  The classroom is filled with a variety of sources, genres, and texts for the students to choose.  The books are well organized to help students make the appropriate selections based on reading level and interests.  We also have places for students to be comfortable when they read; to move out of their desks and just enjoy reading. Students also have permission and encouragement to discuss ideas and books with others.
