  No School – Teacher’s Conference

There is no school from Wednesday, November 5, to Friday, November 7, for a teacher’s conference.  The teachers will be going to Phoenix for a professional development conference.

  Hot Lunch – Pizza

This Friday, we will be having our usual pizza for hot lunch.

Halloween – No Costumes

We ask that students not dress up for Halloween next week on Friday, but continue to follow the student dress code for a normal day of school.

Thank you!

  Trunk or Treat

Thank you to everyone who volunteered and helped at our Trunk or Treat event this past Saturday.  It was a great success and lots of fun.  I would like to recognize Sarah and Sheena for all of their work coordinating this event.

For everyone who participated in the dunk tank, we were able to raise over $600 which will go back into our school.

Curious? Questioning? Committed?

No matter where you fall on the spectrum between curious or committed, the upcoming membership class is for you. It is the perfect setting to raise questions and dive deeper into the Word. The next class will be held on Saturday, November 15, at 10:00 a.m. Lunch will be included. Contact Pastor Boehm with questions or simply register here.

Lego League Practice

I sent out an email about our competition this coming Saturday.  If you have any questions, please let me know.

  Veteran’s Day

Most years, we take off from school, but since Veterans’ Day is on a Tuesday this year, we decided to try something different.  We will be having a half-day of school with a teacher in-service in the afternoon. This will hopefully give our families with veterans time to spend with each other.
We are also moving our weekly family chapel to Veteran’s Day. Following the chapel, we will take some time to honor those who serve or have served. Families that have family members who serve or have served are invited to attend. We would like to post pictures of our SOTH family and extended family, so if you have any family members or extended family who are currently serving or have served, please send me a picture of them so we can acknowledge them.  You can text or email me the picture along with their name and relative to the SOTH student.

There will also be a small continental breakfast for our families for before or after chapel.
We pray this is a great way for our students and families to honor those that serve our country.

  Vogel’s Call to CLHS

This past week, Mr. and Mrs. Vogel received calls to teach and be principal at CLHS and CLA up in Temecula.  The Vogels are not looking to leave SOTH, but the high school and grade school in our association have vacancies and are asking them to fill those vacancies.

Over the next month, the Vogels will consider where best they can serve, whether it be to continue at SOTH or to make the transition to CLHS and CLA next school year.  We welcome any feedback on our time and service here at SOTH.
