No School – Teacher’s Conference

There is no school from Thursday, November 5, and Friday, November 6, for a teacher’s conference.  The teachers will be going to Los Angeles for a professional development conference.

Veteran’s Day

Most years, we take off from school, but since Veterans’ Day is on a Wednesday this year, we decided to continue what we tried out last year. We will be having a half-day of school with a teacher in-service in the afternoon. This will hopefully give our families with veterans time to spend with each other.
We will also have our family chapel this morning that will focus on Veterans Day.  Following the chapel, we will take some time to honor those who serve or have served. Families that have family members who serve or have served are invited to attend. We would like to post pictures of our SOTH family and extended family, so if you have any family members or extended family who are currently serving or have served, please send me a picture of them so we can acknowledge them.  You can text or email me the picture along with their name and relation to the SOTH student.
There will also be a small continental breakfast for our families before or after chapel.  We pray this is a great way for our students and families to honor those who serve our country.

 

Lego League Practice

For those who are interested in helping with snacks, here is a link to sign up for the season.

Chess Club

Chess Club is back on this week on Thursday.

 Catalina Island Information

Our Catalina Island trip is this week Wednesday to Friday.  Below are a couple of reminders for the upcoming trip.

 – We leave at 7:00 am on Wednesday.  Please come 5-10 minutes early so we can pack everything up.

  – Please bring in the forms by Tuesday so I can have them organized and ready to go.

 – If you have any last minute questions, please let me know.

Ms. Sievert’s Call to Florida

This past week, Ms. Sievert received a call to teach 3rd grade in Beverly Hills, Florida.  Ms. Sievert is not looking to leave SOTH, but this school in our association of Christian schools has an upcoming staff vacancy and is asking her to fill it.

Over the next month, Ms. Sievert will consider where she can best serve, whether to continue at SOTH or transition to the other school.  She welcomes any feedback on her time and service here at SOTH.
