No School – Teacher’s Conference

There is no school from Thursday, November 5, and Friday, November 6, for a teacher’s conference.  The teachers will be going to Los Angeles for a professional development conference.

Veteran’s Day

Most years, we take off from school, but since Veterans’ Day is on a Wednesday this year, we decided to continue what we tried out last year. We will be having a half-day of school with a teacher in-service in the afternoon. This will hopefully give our families with veterans time to spend together.
We will also have our family chapel this morning that will focus on Veterans Day.  Following the chapel, we will take some time to honor those who serve or have served. Families that have family members who serve or have served are invited to attend. We would like to post pictures of our SOTH family and extended family. If you have any family members or extended family who are currently serving or have served, please send me a picture of them so we can acknowledge them.  You can text or email me the picture, along with their name and their relationship to the SOTH student.
There will also be a small continental breakfast for our families before or after chapel.  We pray this is a great way for our students and families to honor those who serve our country.

 

Report Cards

This Wednesday is the end of our first trimester, which means it is time for report cards.  Teachers will complete report cards during the week of November 9-13 and email them at the end of the week.

Our next WOLF PAC meeting is this Tuesday at 5:30.  With Trunk or Treat behind us, the focus turns to some of our holiday events, with Thanksgiving and Christmas around the corner.

Ms. Sievert’s Call to Florida

Ms. Sievert has received a call to teach 3rd grade in Beverly Hills, Florida.  Ms. Sievert is not looking to leave SOTH, but this school in our association of Christian schools has an upcoming staff vacancy and is asking her to fill it.

Over the next month, Ms. Sievert will consider where she can best serve, whether to continue at SOTH or transition to the other school.  She welcomes any feedback on her time and service here at SOTH.

Upcoming Schedule Items

Below are some upcoming events. Please keep an eye out for emails with more information and permission slips.

C-HAWK FOR A DAY – This is for students in grades 6-8 as they get to spend a day in the life of our high school, California Lutheran Academy in Temecula.  This all-day field trip is on November 13.

SOCCER DAY – Students in grades 3-8 have been invited to participate in a Soccer Day on Friday, December 4. Students from our other area associate schools come together to play 3-4 soccer games in Temecula.  It is meant to be a fun day of playing soccer and getting to know other students from around the area.
